Research and Development Projects for the two-year period, 2005/2006
1.
Sources for 20th Century Italian History. The research is directed towards the publication of a work which will describe the resources and tools held in governmental and nongovernmental archives for examining 20th century Italian history.
2.
Project: "Letters by Men Condemned to Death in the Italian Resistance". Building on the collection edited and published by Piero Malvezzi e Giovanni Pirelli in the 1950s and 60s, the project proposes a vast new collection of epistolary material on the theme, to be accompanied by biographical tables and other tools of contextualization.
3.
Exhibition: "An Image of Italy" -- 60th [anniversary of] Liberation. The exhibition examines the creation of the image of the Italian Resistance and of the organization of its memory, as it occurred in the months immediately following the Liberation through the work of antifascist political forces and of the volunteer Corps of Freedom, both of which were leading figures in that historic event.
4.
Cataloguing of books and pamphlets in the special collections of the "Ferruccio Parri" library. Cataloguing of materials which came from the private libraries of Ferruccio Parri, Carlo a Prato, and Dino Alfieri.
5.
Project: "School for Advanced Studies of Contemporary History". The School proposes to train young scholars, providing grants to support their research activities in the field of contemporary history with special attention to connections with the social sciences, communications research, and the teaching of history. 6.
Census of scholastic libraries and archives. The census of the archives and libraries of Milan schools is intended to save the documentary heritage contained in them and to render it more usable for academic research or scholastic investigations, the latter already begun for teaching purposes in some local environments.

Convention: "Italy and Ethiopia, Seventy Years After the Fascist Empire". At a distance of seventy years from the invasion of Ethiopia, the convention intends to re-examine the events of the last Italian colonial war and the conquest of the Ethiopian empire in light of new studies and historiographical approaches.
8.
Protection of Mario Alberto Rollier's book collection : cataloguing of books and periodicals. Cataloguing of the book collection of Mario Alberto Rollier, teacher at the Politecnico of Milan, follower of the Valdese religion, who was leader of the Federalist Movement and one of the leading figures in the struggle for Italian liberation.
9.
Development of the project, National Library System (SBN) in Lombardy - Work Plan 2005/2006. Program for progressive cataloguing of book and periodical acquisitions.
10.
Portal Development Project for the Network of INSMLI Institutes. Planning, design, development, and implementation of the 1st phase of the website, www.italia-liberazione.it
