The year 1949 (one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine) the day 19 (nineteen) April in Milan, on the premises of Sforzesco Castle before me, Doctor Carlo Marchetti, son of Gaetano, notary who is resident of Lodi and registered with the Notary Board of Milan, without the presence of witnesses as explicitly agreed among the appearing parties and with my consent as Notary. The following men personally appeared:

Hon. Senator Ferruccio Parri, son of Fedele,
born in Pinerolo, resident of Milan, via Panzacchi 6, senator of the Republic who is present as president of the Historical Institute of the Resistance in Lombardy and on the basis of today's act no. 5293/1440 of my index as Notary;

Avv. Andrea Guglielminetti, son of Filippo,
born in Turin, resident of Turin, via San Quintino 43, professional representing the Association for the History of the Resistance in Piedmont, by act 1 April 1949 no. 3832 of Notary Leopoldo Nertolè, the original of which is attached as A;

Dott. Luciano Bolis, son of Ricardo,
born in Milan and here resident, via Giuseppe Piolti De' Bianchi 26, political organizer, delegate on behalf of the Historical Institute of the Resistance in Liguria by resolution of the Governing Committee of the same, which resolution is attached in authenticated copy as B.

Of the personal identity of all the appearing parties, Italian citizens, I as notary am certain. And therefore the said appearing parties, upon declaration of being all Italian citizens, declare and agree the following:

1. A body named "ISTITUTO PER LA STORIA DEL MOVIMENTO DI LIBERAZIONE IN ITALIA" is established with its seat in Milan (currently in Sforzesco Castle).

The body has neither speculative nor political purposes and proposes to:
a) ensure for the historical patrimony of the Nation the most compete and ordered documentation of such movement;
b) promote knowledge of the political and military liberation movement. Its tasks, therefore, are:
a) research, collection, preservation, and classification of archival, journalistic, and book-related documentation;
b) initiatives for study and publication for both historic and general distribution purposes; c) demonstrations, exhibitions, conferences useful for the aims described.

2. The organization and operating of the Body will be regulated by the charter that, read by me as Notary to the appearing parties and signed by them with me as Notary, is attached under C to the present act, thereby becoming an integral and substantial part of it.

3. The General Council is currently composed as follows:

for the Historical Institute of the Resistance in Lombardy:

for the Association of the History of the Resistance in Piedmont:
Guglielminetti Avv. Andrea

for the Historical Institute of the Resistance in Liguria:

Minoletti Prof. Bruno
Oliveri Antonio
those co-opted according to the norms of article 5 of the Charter:
Balzarotti Dott. Gian Luigi
Vaccarino Dott. Giorgio

4. The Honorable Ferruccio Parri is designated President, Professor Amedeo Ugolini Vice President; Professor Mario Dal Pra’ is designated Secretary, with the right to appoint the Treasurer or Auditor.

5. Fees and taxes for this document and its attachments are to be paid by the body.
And, as requested, I as Notary have drawn up this act and published it by means of reading it myself to the appearers who, approving it and confirming it, here undersign (signing also in the margins of the second sheet). I Notary omitted, in accordance with the wishes of the appearers themselves, the reading of the attachments A and B.
This document consists of two sheets written by me Notary for five pages and five lines.
