Accessibility is the system capacity informed to us - for how much the technological acquaintances concur - to distribute services and to supply usable information also from part of those who because of disabilità needs of assistive technologies or particular configurations. And that independently from the operating atmosphere, the instruments of navigation and the configuration of the browser. At the moment the portale Italy-liberazione.it guarantees an accessible translation of every page through the commutation of rows css. Consideriamo this single one like a first step in direction of true and own accessibility, therefore like described from the 9 Law January 2004 n.4 and more specifically in requirement previewed for the technical verification of accessibility, in compliance with which the pages of the portale are certifyd XHTML 1,0 the Strict and the presentation it is structured by means of CSS 2.0
The plan of development in accessibility topic previews following sets in action:
- to assure one navigation in accessible shape without continuity solution;
- to adopt a presentation css that integral new options with those currently in use (that the dimensions of the character and the change of the colors take part mainly on);
- to above all deepen the effective technological resources available of auditory and visual type for accessibility; to gradually implement the options in the accessible pages with dedicated code.
- Voice Browsers
The website team of italia-liberazione.it is closely monitoring the development of voice browsers which allow visitors to listen to webpages. This tool, which will be of benefit to everyone, not only to those with visual impairment, is expected to be widely available in the near future. At the moment, however, only two browsers support voice capability for listening to web pages. One is Opera, and voice capability is limited to pages in English. The other is Safari, which is limited to the Mac world.
If you are using one of these two voice browsers, we certainly invite you to listen to the English pages of our website!
:-)
Obviously, the opportunity to listen to web pages will be gradually extended to other languages but, for the moment, neither Opera nor Safari nor other browser producers are able to give precise release dates.
In any case, the pages of our website in Italian language are already designed for listening through a voice browser.
We will be sure to inform everyone of this possibility as soon as an Italian vocal interpreter becomes available. In the meantime, you can try to listen to them anyway, though they will be read with strong Anglo-American accent.
- Firefox Browser

Firefox is the recommended browser for navigating our site. Among its many functions, we'd like to highlight the possibility of opening multiple pages with the same window and using the keyboard shortcut "CTRL++" to increase the size of the characters for easier reading. If you are not already familiar with it, we absolutely recommend you try it!
- Opera browser

The Opera browser is the most accessible browser on the market today. We advise you to visit these pages:
- Safari Browser

Also Safari, by Apple, is a voice browser.
